Simply described as iconic – the Mini is now being remastered by the team at David Brown Automotive. The UK based shop has set out to remaster the classic mini by combining the iconic 60’s looks with modern technology and luxury materials. Each car will be hand-built at the Silverstone headquarters.
Starting from the ground up, the cars will have new body panels with a refined exterior shape. They aim to soften the silhouette and weld custom structural beams that add support and create a more rigid structure. Sound proofing will create a more comfortable ride, reducing road noise in the cabin of the car. Customers can personalise their Mini, with the option of a contrasting roof, interior trim and alternate wheels.
You get a bunch of modern features such as the infotainment/navigation system, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new sound system, push-button start, central locking and USB connectivity. You can add extra features for a little more cash.
The interior will be entirely bespoke, hand trimmed interior wrapped in British sourced hides and a mix of leather, paint and other fabric finishes. Custom retro Smiths dials and a David Brown Automotive engraved Moto-Lita steering wheel.
Prices are yet to be announced. From what we have gathered, the bespoke nature of the remake, it won’t come cheap. Also, factoring in the limited number of cars being remade and you have an expensive ride. However, this is a classic Mini and a diehard fan will be happy to spend the cash for their dream car.
