While it’s not the most exciting news to come out of London this week, I’m pretty impressed with the snaps of the new Qantas lounge at Heathrow which officially opened to travellers today.
Qantas has spent the past 12 months building a dedicated lounge at Heathrow as part of a multi-million dollar investment for customers on its existing London services as well as the landmark Perth-London route serviced by the airline’s new Dreamliner commencing on the 24th of March 2018.
The new Qantas lounge at Heathrow follows the same concept as Qantas’ international lounges in Hong Kong, Singapore, Los Angeles and Brisbane, with the food and interior design taking inspiration from the local region. I’m a huge fan of the Qantas Hong Kong lounge, particularly the bathrooms, and this Heathrow example, with interiors designed to reflect London at twilight, looks like it continues that trend.
Features of the Qantas lounge include seating for 230 with á la carte dining room and menu designed by Rockpool, marble cocktail bar, dedicated gin bar (of course), hydration bar and six stunning shower suites.
Located at London Heathrow Terminal 3, the new Qantas lounge is open daily from 8am – 8:30pm to Qantas customers travelling in First and Business and Qantas Platinum One, Platinum and Gold Qantas Frequent Flyers and their guests. It is also open to eligible oneworld Emerald and Sapphire customers, Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold customers and Qantas Club members and their guests.
If you’re a Qantas Platinum member you can also take advantage of Cathay Pacific’s exceptional First Class lounge The Pier which I reviewed here.
