Even with 300 full-time designers and builders combining for over 2 million man hours across four years to create924 Bel Air Rd, it’s still hard to imagine how a house can have a $250 million price tag.
The idea behind the property, developed by Bruce Makowsky and located within the platinum triangle of Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills, and Bel Air, was to design a home that mirrored the superyachts owned by the world’s mega-rich, with every detail curated to perfection.
924 Bel Air Rd boasts 12 bedrooms, 21 bathrooms, three kitchens, six bars, a massage room and spa, fitness centre, two wine cellars plus and a bowling alley. Bruce has also added some lavish touches including 125 art installations, a 20 foot TV and a helipad. Finally, Bruce has iced the cake with an included $30 million dollar car collection and a crew of seven full-time staff covered for two years.
The house succeeds in transcending the bounds of the typical home, and dually functioning as a multi-sensory, all-powerful experience for all who enter it. – Bruce Makowsky
